A few insights

1.  Apparently its Friday.  Seriously?  I thought it was like Wednesday.....

2.  This weekend is daylight savings time. Thank F***ing god.  That means i can now run after work up by work.  No longer to have to drive to the lakefront path for every single run.  Now i have options.  I am seriously so happy i could cry.

3.  I have run 7 miles this week.  7.  marathon training fail.  My project wrapped up last night thank god, so now i can get back on track, but i feel that i have done irreparable damage...

4. Taking on freelance work on top of everything i already do was probably a little too much.  I had an epic melt down around 5am yesterday where i was just crying with my face on the keyboard,  I wrote a whole post about it, but when i simmered down and re-read it, all it said was, "waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wahhhhhh wahhhhhhhhhhhh"

5 .  I have a 17 mile run tomorrow.  I am super nervous, because i have banked about 16 hours of sleep total this week.  (not even exaggerating.)  I am pretty sure that the rule of thumb is that you should get as least as many hours in a week of sleep as your long run.  I feel so burnt out, and even walking is making me tired.  I am seriously going to bed at like 8 tonight.

6.  Did you just see that i wrote i am going to bed at 8 tonight?  What have i become.....

7.  Matt surprised me and took me to the Bulls game last night!!  They lost, but it was still a great time.  This was the first time we have been out together on a weeknight since we got waffles.  We feel too guilty since she is alone all day, but my friend jenny came and watched her!

8.  While we were at the game i had two beers and most of a pretzel, which was my dinner.  Reflecting on how inadequate a dinner it was, i realized that the last time i had dinner was Saturday.  I have been eating tortilla chips every night.....Obviously i don't function well under stress.  Also, reasons i am not a healthy lifestyle blogger.

9.  And lastly - BIC bands Has chose the Huntington's Disease Society of America as their charity for both March and April!!  How sweet is that??  A portion of every BIC band sold is going to HDSA to help research a cure, and take care of the families suffering from the disease.  That is about as awesome as it gets folks.  The time is now - go buy BIC bands.

  1. I'm so glad it's Friday! I would not want it to be Wednesday.

Just think of this as a cut-back week. That 17 miles might not be pretty but just think of it as time on your feet.

  2. Hey GF!

Thanks for mentioning Daylight Savings Time........I'd completely forgotten when that was happening.......makes me SOOOOOOOO happy to push that clock back an hour!

Don't worry 'bout your 17 tomorrow........I'm doing 19 on the Boston course, and haven't run more than 10 in a month. I figure I can crawl on hands and knees if necessary to finish it, but by GOD, I'll finish my run. Seriously though, get some rest tonight, pre-hydrate, and just get out there and find a pace that will work and you'll get through it. You haven't done "irreperable damage"....you just need to get back on track!

See you out on the road!

  4. OMG you are alive!!! I'm so happy for you that you are officially done with this project that seems to suck the life out of you and that you can finally eat a normal dinner,...while the sun sets, because it's going to be like 7pm now when that happens, WOOHOO!

  5. It seems like tonight you need to eat a lot and sleep a lot!!!! I am sure once you have sleep you will feel great and the long run will seem like a breeze compared to the week you've had!

  6. How did your run go? I've been thinking about you this week and everytime I've felt like a whiny byotch I am like "well at least I am getting sleep! Gingerfoxxx isn't!" I hope next week will be better for you.

And when you write those posts, publish them! Whenever I write something like that it seems to get the most responses - I think people can (sadly?) relate to how sh*tty life can be. Or just tiring when you are working so damn hard!

Happy to hear you had a night out amidst all of this!

Also, I mentioned our potential dinner plans to Katie @ Life Half Full and she wants to come too :) Whenever we get around to it!
