Weekend Synopsis.

You know, because things happen.

1.  Waffles the hero dog found a purse!  She and Matt were walking and apparently spotted a purse that had been dropped.  Also, that purse contained tons of money for some reason.  Matt was able to locate the owner with the help of some neighbors who helped him track down the house of the owner.  It turned out to be an older woman who was recently widowed, and had lost her wallet the week before, forcing her to cancel all her credit cards and carry around a shit-ton of cash.  Losing your purse twice in two weeks?  I feel for this lady.

Anyway, she was so happy to have her purse returned with all the $$$ intact, that she insisted on giving Matt and Waffles a $50 reward!
Waffles was super proud of herself for all of 30 seconds...
And then she tried to eat the $50.  Luckily i have cat-like reflexes.

Since waffles has little need for cash, and we have been supporting her ass for the past year anyway, we went out to a nice dinner!

2.  We also went and got a christmas tree!  It was slightly weird though seeing as it's been 60 degrees all weekend, and will be almost 70 today....

3.  I also started doing some minor, at home strength training.  I have high hopes for not being a lazy and rapidly expanding blob in December.  I don't remember planks being so hard though....

4.  I had a dream that i was doing speed training on a track, and it was awesome and really fun.  I think i'm finally ready.

5.  The washing machine blew up.  Smokey smell and everything.  I managed to at least get it to drain so i could rescue the clothes trapped and drowning inside, but i don't know that i actually fixed it, so i am a little afraid to do laundry. Score!

6.  I kind of want to do some sort of holiday 5k.  It has to be a small one though, as holiday anxiety has already set in, and i don't expect it to leave until the new year.

  1. ok, I won't make fun of you for "synapsis" since your washing machine blew up, and well, that's just not cool.

I have a teeny holiday themed race for you this wednesday evening. http://zbrun.org/ and you could probably medal. and it's teeny. :)

    1. damn you, google chrome!!! my autocorrect is out of control. Obviously i was trying to describe my weekend of homogenous chromosomes. OBVIOUSLY. why would i ever outline things on this blog. Thanks for alerting me :) Also i might actually do this race. Although even if ten people were running it, my chances of placing would be slim, haha :)

  2. Waffles seems like a truly remarkable being. I am so glad to hear about his wonderful character traits on this blog.

also, so terribly sorry about your washing machine. I had a washing machine decide to drown my clothes once...awful, the truest form of tragedy = sopping wet clothes

    1. seriously! they were too wet and heavy to put in the dryer, so everything was hanging in the shower drip drying. I would make a terrible pioneer woman!

  3. Cb is impressed with Ms waffles purse finding abilities.

    Yay for some strength training!

Bummer about Your washing machine. My fridge has been making strange noises since yesterday and I'm scared it's going to explode.

  4. Waffles, you truly are a hero dog! $50? At least that'll cover a shot at the vet (maybe). I'm doing the Jingle Bell 5k/10k next weekend on the lakefront trail. I don't have any idea of how big it is, however, so it may not fit your size requirement. Good luck at the track. I am going to return to track work this week after my layoff.

  5. Talk about a December blob....we made about 5 different kinds of cookies over the weekend ...prepping for grandparents visit THIS weekend and celebrating Christmas early...however, I HAD to try them all to be sure they tasted right...and then continue to sample and feel utterly (yes, like a cow) sick!!!!

Dam you sugar for being so addicting!!

  7. Waffles is a super dog! I can't believe she tried to eat the money though. Too funny, she seriously cracks me up. Love your Christmas tree. We got ours on Friday, but opted for a a fake tree. We have super tall ceilings in our house so we need a 9ft tree and those were like $70 for a real one. We found a fake 9ft tree that was originally $200, marked down to $112. My husband being the financial advisor was very excited that in less than 2 years our tree would pay for itself. Whatever. I am from Oregon and really need a REAL tree darn it! :/
