Technology update!

Well, i don't have an ipad. (whaaah whaaahhhhh) In the end it was determined that while i could suffice with an ipad, i would get annoyed with certain aspects, and i am such a grouch to begin with, the poor apple store guy thought it was a bad idea.  So, my darling Macbook pro is in the shop getting it's screen replaced.  It's kind of a gamble with a five year old laptop, but if i can get just one more year out of it, i will be happy.  I just don't have the money to blow right now with the upcoming trip!

So what have i been up to other than being the worlds worst blogger?

1. Cleaning!  The apartment is pretty impressive these days.  It turns out i have a lot of extra time when i don't spend an hour before work parked on the couch blogging every day.

2.  Hanging out with this jerk.
We started puppy classes again after putting them on hiatus when she had all her surgery complications.  Turns out, she forgot everything we taught her, and somehow learned how to be even more bad.  She actually was used by the instructor as a demo dog on how to do everything wrong.  My shame was unfathomable.  And, as we were leaving - carrying her out of petsmart because she was being SO bad, a woman walks up to her, gets in her face and says "a basenji!  she is so stressed out, i can see it in her eyes!"  No lady, I'M stressed out.

3.  I ran with these awesome ladies (and awesome dude)
I'm definitely suffering from lack of motivation during high mileage weeks, and being around other people makes a world of difference.  I am also painfully aware of how unprepared i am for the Chicago Half Marathon.  It makes me sad.  Miracles can happen, right??

4. And lastly, some of this happened.
Seriously, farmer John, you amaze me.  One of those carrots is as big as my forearm.  In a drought, no less.  I commend you.

  1. I like Waffles' independent spirit. She's a rebel! I am thinking about joining a running group for the winter. I have never run in a group and the only time I run with another person, is when I run with my dad once every couple of months.

    1. I do the CARA winter marathon training - the groups are really small, and allow to make real running friends (unlike summer, which is a nightmare)

  2. I just looked up Basenji on wiki cuz I know nothing about your dog breed. It says that it is the 2nd least trainable dog. I think i would have fixed my screen too on my laptop. I had my last laptop since about 2004 & I just got newer one this year.

    1. She was stranged - maybe the stress was from creepy people getting in her face? haha

  5. Those carrots are awesome. When we grew carrots, they were Barbie sized. Not the size of a Barbie. The size of a carrot Barbie would eat. If she ate carrots. She probably ate them and threw them up.

    Anyway...

My husband has tried to convince me to replace my netbook with an iPad and I've said no way. It just does not have the functionality I need. I am happy your screen is getting replaced.

And will you be mad if I say I love that Waffles is the model dog... for bad dogs? :)

(Can't wait to run with you again!)

    1. I know! I don't even know what to do with so many! Luckily, they last a long time, so i don't need to eat them all this week

    2. You can cut them and freeze them, I do that with my carrots I get at Costco, so when I am making a stew or something, I can just dump them in.

  8. Apple products and I have an unlucky relationship- in the past few years I've lost two iPhone 4's, had one harddrive crash on my MacBook Pro, and spilled water on it which ruined the touchpad. Joy.

Those carrots look delicious. Whole carrots (not the baby kind) seriously taste better, right?
