Have you ever woken up on monday morning and thought "dear god, i cannot deal with life this week." That was my morning. While i am slowly feeling better, it hasn't been the miracle recovery i was hoping for, resulting in skipping two runs last week. I am hungry all the time, but not for reasonable things like dinner, for tortilla chips. More accurately, a never ending river of tortilla chips flowing into my mouth. It's looking like and 85 degree day for my marathon. (SHOCKER.) I napped with waffles in a super weird position yesterday and now my back hurts (First world problem if i ever heard one.) My family just does not seem to understand the importance of my first marathon this weekend. And i have a super busy and stressful week at work.
I am obviously demanding pity from all of you. In all honesty, I just woke up on the whiny side of the bed. BUT, i am going to suck it up and put on my big girl pants because:
1. I am running a marathon this weekend, and that is awesome - even if its 85 degrees and takes me 6 hours.
2. I just spent a whole weekend napping with my puppy and watching x-files, an indulgence i will not get to see again for a year probably
3. Matt and i have a strategic healthy dinner plan for the entire week, so that i will be in tip top shape
4. Just because my family doesn't understand , doesn't mean they don't care.
5. And I have this jar of cookie butter on my desk. Life is not that bad.
Time for me to stop whining and start rocking the big girl pants. Today's post is short because i seriously do have a TON of work today, but i wanted to announce the winners of the Pro-compression raffle!
Winner #1: Bill F! (I am assuming you would like the significantly more manly black pair?)
Winner #2: Erin V! (hopefully you like pink! :) )
If you guys could just email me at Sara.marie.rockwell@gmail.com with a shipping address, i will try to get these in the mail tomorrow!
Thanks so much for everyone who donated - Just a reminder that all donations are tax deductible! I will probably have a couple more raffles this summer as well. Thanks everyone for making fundraising a little less painful.
xoxo,
G-Foxxx
Booo for me not winning those socks! :( Er, I mean congrats to Bill and Erin! :)
ReplyDeleteSince you signed up for several different marathons this year, they can't all be in 85 degree weather. Hopefully that extended forecast changes to be in your favor! I'm sure you'll do amazing regardless! :)
I am banking on Dublin. I mean, i am pretty sure it is impossible for Ireland to get that warm.....right??
DeleteI won?! That makes my whole week :-) I love pink :-)
ReplyDeleteYou will rock your marathon. No expectations for the first one, anyway. Just do it and finish and you will be awesome.
I keep telling myself that :)
DeleteI've been eyeing that cookie butter every single week at TJ's but will not succumb...said the whacko who made slutty brownies.
ReplyDeleteUgh 85 this weekend? Say it isn't so. Hot marys = no fun.
it is mind-blowingly delicious. All i'm sayin. And i am determined to have fun at this race if it kills me (spoiler= it might kill me.)
DeleteLooks like you'll get to join the "my first mary was a fucking sauna" club! Sorry about that. But I guarantee you one thing - when you finish it, you'll KNOW you can finish ANYTHING!
ReplyDeleteIf there is a club, it makes me feel much better about it actually! :)
DeleteCookie butter = amazing. It goes great with anything, I swear!
ReplyDeleteIt is especially delicious on a spoon going straight into my mouth :)
DeleteHi! I just found your blog and am excited to "meet" someone from the Chicago-land area. Good luck on your marathon!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you found me!!
DeleteYou are allowed to whine the entire week before your marathon... and for a month after!
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome that your family cares. I have some friends who run and their families don't care at all. Of course, you still want them to be like "How is the taper going? Are you fueling properly?!"
I might snap though if they ask me again "how far is your marathon?" haha
DeleteOMG say it isn't so, you should have played the lottery of something. 3 hot races this year and it's not even June yet!
ReplyDeleteAlso I NEED that cookie butter in my life. Now.
I totally understand if you want to cancel every race we are running together this summer. Totally. :)
Deletehey Sara!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're feeling better....and I can't wait to hear about your appointment with destiny (a.k.a. the marathon) this coming weekend.
And to find out that I won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bonus!!! And while I absolutely love pink (my students always love it when I rock my pink buttondown shirt or my pink polo shirt), the "more manly" black pair will do just fine!
I fully believe you could pull of either :D
DeleteOh my gosh, what is this cookie butter you speak of??? I must try. Best of luck this weekend!
ReplyDeleteIts at trader joes, and it is basically like graham cracker paste. SO AMAZING.
DeleteTHAT COOKIE BUTTER FROM TJ'S IS AMAZING. I love that stuff. It's like crack. I was so upset when they ran out and it took them months to make more for me...now I can't buy it because I'll eat it all the time and gain weight instead of losing it haha.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel betterrrr! Good luck on your first marathon!!
PS I totally wanted to do your raffle but clearly am slow and forget the meaning of time. The days are all kind of blurring together at this point in school.
I have gone through have the jar already. I am pretty sure that is about 800 servings. There will be more raffles, i promise! :)
DeleteI have been putting off buying that cookie butter because I know I will eat the jar in like, 3 days.
ReplyDeleteSee you Wednesday! I think we can make it until then! :)
<---going on day three. the jar will not survive.
DeleteCOOKIE BUTTER?! Why have I not heard of such a thing! This is a game-changer!
ReplyDeleteYES! Its at trader joes! go there now! Do not pass go, do not collect $200!
